Where to start...a lot of the other stuff from earlier is incorrect now too...
Izzy is human and simply lives in a small human village. She has a pair of earrings, that have been passed down the family for generations that's supposed to have a curse on them. No one had dared to wear them...up to her.
She finds the earrings are actually magically powered and thus gives her small magical abilities. Magic is considered to be very evil to humans so she tries to hide it...but she doesn't have much control over it.
With the gift of magic though, she becomes very interested in it. She sneaks in magical books from elves that roam by. (elves are the only magical being human will have contact with- they respect them)
She learns the secret of her earrings through research- that they are actually a set of 8: earrings, 2 bracelets, 2 rings, a necklace, and 2 anklets. Having all 8 gives you god like magical power.
When she attempts to do more advanced magic, and it fails, the village can no longer ignore her and declares her a witch and that she must be burned. She is able to escape though through the help of her family, especially her sister, but she can never return again.
Though she has never left her village before she has heard word from travelers who come by that there is another close human village but she must travel through a small forest to get through it. She thinks it'll be a place to start and figure out what to do.
She is eventually found by a group of centaurs- she has been trespassing on their territory. She runs, they follow and shoot arrows at her. One hits her in the shoulder and she falls. Right before she is trampled by their leader, however, a mysterious woman interferes and pushes them back.
That's enough for not.

Envy and greed are the motivating forces of ambition - and without ambition, very little of any importance would be accomplished.
